Intensive Care Unit at KIMS, Bengaluru is a crucial specialty caring for patients who are critically ill. It has a well-organized 18 bedded multidisciplinary Main ICU and a 12 bedded step-down ICU offering the best treatment and technologies, for the survival of the patients who are acutely and critically ill. Our ICU is designed and managed based on the fact that methodical organisation of services influences importantly the overall outcome measures such as mortality, length of stay and infection rates.
A lot of emphasis is also placed on areas like post-graduation training, nurses’ training, standardizing care through clinical pathways, research activities, ATLS/ACLS/BLS training courses for doctors and paramedics, M.Sc. Nurse Practitioner in Critical Care and also identification of ethical and economic issues pertaining to Critical Care.
Our ICU is equipped with the latest ventilators, dialysis machines and well supported by qualified doctors, advanced radiological and laboratory investigations at one place round the clock. We manage medical patients needing intensive/invasive monitoring and patients after major surgery who are considered unstable to transfer to a less intensively monitored unit. We handle cases of surgical/medical specialities and all super specialities with utmost precision 24 x 7 leading to one of the best ICU services in the town.
KIMS Bangalore also has separate ICU for medicine department- MICU, for surgical department- SICU and for respiratory medicine- RICU which are managed by the respective departments.
