On behalf of Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (popularly known as KIMS) faculty and staff, I take this opportunity to welcome you to our Institution and to peruse this booklet. The Institute was started in the year 1981 and has its own multi-specialty hospital providing tertiary medical care and community health services. The total bed strength of the hospital is 1200. It is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka and recognized by the Medical Council of India for imparting training in undergraduate and postgraduate courses in various medical and surgical specialties. The Institute is also recognized by General Medical Council, UK and is listed in the Directory of Medical Schools of World Health Organization. The annual intake for MBBS course is 150 and PG degree/Diploma in various specialties is 119.
Lastly, I am happy to inform you that ‘KIMS’ has been ranked “number 24 among the 400+ Medical Colleges” in the Country.
