Dr.M.K.Sudarshan, MD (BHU), FAMS, Hon.FFPH (UK) DIRECTOR
Dr.M.K.Sudarshan, served Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences from 1981 to 2005 in the Department of Community Medicine, as Lecturer, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor, and Head. From 2005 to 2014 he worked as Dean/Principal and Professor of Community Medicine. Later from 2014 to 2017 he worked in the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Public Health and Centre for Disease Control as its Head and Professor. He is also an NABH accredited national level assessor of Ethics Committees and Clinical Trials, from 2018. He is a national level monitor of National Health Mission of Government of India since, 2019. He is the Chairman of Ethics committees of Fortis Hospital and Ambedkar Medical College and Hospital. Since, April, 2020 he is the Chairman of the State Covid -19 Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of Government of Karnataka.
He is the Founder President and Mentor of Association for Prevention and Control of Rabies in India (APCRI, 1998) and Rabies in Asia (RIA, 2006) Foundation. He was a member of expert consultations on rabies of World Health Organization, Geneva from 2004 to 2017.He has conducted two WHO Geneva supported national multicentric rabies surveys in 2004 and 2017. He has over 100 research publications in peer reviewed national and international journals. He has travelled widely as an international expert on rabies and delivered lectures in France, Switzerland, Srilanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, China, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Puerto Rico, Egypt, Ghana and others.
