The department of ENT & HNS was started in the year 1983. The credit goes to Dr. Purushotham N.D. who has been the pillar for the inception of this department. Postgraduate course was started in the year 1998. At present, the Department has MCI recognized 5 MS seats per year. We adhere to MCI (now NMC) curriculum. We began the teaching programme for the undergraduates under Bangalore University and then in 1998 we have been affiliated with RGUHS University.

On an average, 1000 major and 1200 minor surgeries are performed every year with daily outpatients of 120-150. We have an extensive postgraduate training programme with well-equipped temporal bone dissection lab and good surgical exposure for them. They are encouraged immensely with research work, paper and poster presentations in state, national and international conferences.

We have the credit of many students achieving ranks in undergraduate and postgraduate university exams and also bagging multiple prizes in conferences and workshops.

We also actively participate and organize national conferences and workshops in the department by including eminent faculties in the field of ENT.
