Surgery is a discipline which helps the patient in well being where cutting would look fearful and painful to patients at the outset. But he will be cheerful, laughing & excited to tell about his surgery when he leaves the ward.
My department team has plenty of well specialised staff to see to patient’s upliftment and wellbeing in the society.
The department has a bedstrength of 236, for the 7 teaching units with 20 SICU beds & 21 beds in post operative ward with separate subspeciality departments, with a highly sophisticated operation theatre complex having 16 operation theatres.The department also imparts Postgraduate teaching with an annual intake of 5 candidates as of now, which is likely to be increased.
My vision for the department is to groom the budding talent & also adequately support my colleagues in the search for excellence. An indispensable part of any medical college teaching is an effective post graduate training programme which aims not only to create the best surgeons but also to provide the much needed faculty for other medical colleges and to realize this penultimate goal is my DREAM…..
